There is a variety of committees pursuing activities and concerns relevant to the running of the Association and supporting members. The Association also actively encourages the formation of new committees to pursue such concerns. Such committees are then similar to SIGs in structure and aims, but are explicitly aimed across research areas. Committees therefore serve the function of providing broad synergistic integrating activities that may span a wide range of communities both within and and external to the association.
