Announcement COVID-19 - BOSK 2020, The Bolzano Summer of Knowledge
We would like to provide an update to potential BOSK authors and participants about our plans and response to the coronavirus crisis. Since the situation is changing rapidly, detailed plans for September cannot be announced at this point. We would, however, like to reassure everyone that BOSK 2020 will take place in some form, and several conferences including EKAW 2020, ICBO 2020, and FOIS 2020 have already confirmed that papers accepted to these conferences will be published in the respective proceedings sticking to the original timeframe. Therefore, all plans for JOWO workshops remain in place at this point as well.
We will be keeping open the possibility of an in-person meeting as long as possible, in the hopes that the situation will improve fast enough over the summer. But of course, the first priority will be the health of BOSK participants. Therefore we will be developing backup plans for (partial) virtual (online) conferences. We will be collecting advice from other conferences that are going virtual, and will be working out the best ways to offer talks, workshops, summer school sessions, and tutorials without losing too much of the social aspects that are so important to scientific conferences.
We will continue to keep you updated about our plans. Please take care of yourself and each other.
